Every fixture, every pipe run and every bit of storage has to earn its place in a smaller footprint, which is exactly why the planning stage matters so much. We start with a proper survey of the room, whether that's an existing en suite needing a refresh or a bedroom, wardrobe or landing space being converted for the first time. Once the layout and fixtures are agreed, we handle the whole job ourselves. First fix covers the plumbing, electrics, waste routes and ventilation preparation, all done before anything gets covered up. Second fix brings in the toilet, basin, shower and any other fixtures, along with the lighting and extractor fan that keep a small, enclosed room free of condensation and damp. > A good en suite is judged on what you don't notice: no leaks, no damp, no fuss. Waterproofing is not an area to cut corners in a room this size. We tank shower areas properly before tiling, and we test and snag everything before we call the job finished, so you're not left chasing us back for a fix a few weeks later. I took advice from Ryan, as I didn't know if I would have to have new floor and wall tiles with the work I wanted doing. I didn't, so new sink unit, tap, mirror, toilet and shower screen fitted. Straightforward projects often run from several working days up to around two weeks, though anything involving structural changes or unexpected issues behind walls can take longer. We'll give you a realistic timeframe once we've surveyed the space. Can you convert a wardrobe or unused space into an en suite? Yes, this is one of the most common requests we get. The key thing to check first is whether drainage and service connections can reach the new space, which is exactly what we assess at the design stage. Do you handle the design as well as the installation? Yes, we design and fit the whole thing ourselves, from working out the best layout for a compact room through to first fix, tiling and the final finish. Will you need to open up walls or floors? Often, yes, particularly if you're changing the layout or running new plumbing and electrics. In older or period properties this can occasionally reveal hidden issues, which we'll flag and discuss with you before continuing. How do you stop damp and condensation in such a small room? Proper waterproofing (tanking) behind wet areas before tiling, combined with correctly specified extractor fans and drainage, is what keeps a small enclosed bathroom free of moisture problems. Are you qualified to do the plumbing and electrics involved? We are Gas Safe registered for domestic gas work, registration 568345, and an accredited Vaillant installer. The plumbing is ours from first fix through to final connection, and any electrical work is carried out by a qualified electrician as part of the installation. Which areas do you cover for en suite installation?
