Why a boiler service matters more than people think
A boiler service is essentially an MOT for your heating system. It's a structured check carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer to confirm the boiler is safe, running efficiently, and not showing early signs of wear that could lead to a breakdown or, worse, a safety issue. It's not a repair visit, but it's often how problems get spotted before they become expensive ones.
On a typical visit, we carry out a visual and internal inspection, check the flue and combustion, test the gas pressure, and examine the burner, heat exchanger, ignition components, condensate trap, seals and pipework. The casing usually comes off so everything inside can be properly looked at, not just the parts you can see from the outside. Gas work is carried out by our Gas Safe registered engineers, under registration 568345.
A boiler that's been properly serviced is one less thing to worry about through winter.
If anything needs attention, whether that's a part showing early wear or a setting that's drifted out of range, you'll be told plainly what it is and what your options are. There's never any pressure to agree to extra work on the spot.

Older boilers sometimes take a bit longer to service properly, especially if there's soot buildup or corrosion to check for, and that's factored into the visit rather than rushed through. As an accredited Vaillant installer, we also service Vaillant boilers to the manufacturer's own standards, on top of general Gas Safe registered servicing for other makes.
