Gas Cooker Installation
Whether you're replacing a tired old cooker or fitting a new one, we'll connect it safely, test it properly and leave your kitchen tidy. All work is carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer, so you can cook with confidence from day one.

What's included with a cooker installation
A proper installation covers more than just connecting a pipe. Here's what we check and do as standard.
Old Cooker Removal
Safe disconnection and removal of your existing gas cooker before the new one goes in.
Gas Supply Assessment
Checking your existing pipework, isolation valve and clearances are right for the new appliance.
Connection & Levelling
Fitting the correct hose or fixed pipework, then levelling and securing the cooker properly.
Leak Testing & Commissioning
A full leak test and function check on burners and oven before we call the job done.
Getting a new gas cooker fitted safely
Fitting a gas cooker isn't a job to leave to chance. It needs a Gas Safe registered engineer to check the supply, connect the appliance correctly, and test everything before it's signed off as safe to use. That's the service we provide for homeowners across Brighton, Hove and the surrounding Sussex towns, as part of our wider domestic gas and plumbing work.
We start by looking at what you've got: the existing pipework, the isolation valve, and whether the space and clearances suit the new cooker. Older kitchens sometimes need a new flexible hose, a different bayonet fitting, or a bit of extra pipework to bring things up to standard. Once the cooker's connected, levelled and (where needed) secured, we run a proper leak test and check the burners and oven are working as they should before we leave.
A gas cooker isn't safe until it's been tested, not just connected.
Most calls we get are straightforward swaps: an old cooker out, a new one in, tested and working the same visit. Occasionally there's more to it, particularly if the appliance is a different size or type to what was there before, or if there's an electrical ignition component to check too. Either way, we won't leave until it's done properly and the kitchen's as tidy as we found it.
More information
We cover this across Brighton, Woodingdean, Hove, Worthing, Lewes, Shoreham-by-Sea, Haywards Heath, Seaford and Burgess Hill. It's often a job that comes up alongside a new kitchen appliance delivery, or as part of a wider kitchen or bathroom project, and we're happy to fit it in around whatever else is going on in the house.
Tidy, tested, and working properly, that's the job as far as we're concerned.
If you've got a new cooker waiting to go in, or an old one that needs looking at, get in touch and we'll talk you through what's involved for your kitchen specifically.
“Great service as always from R.K.Plumbing. I've used them three times so far, which says everything really. They were quick to cap our gas supply ready for a new induction hob install. Fair price and timely and clean work. I would recommend them to anyone.”
