Gas Fire Servicing
A properly serviced gas fire should be safe, efficient and worry-free, and that's exactly what our Gas Safe registered checks are designed to confirm. We work carefully and tidily in homes across Brighton, Hove and the surrounding Sussex towns.

What's included in a gas fire service
Every gas fire is a little different, but our servicing covers the same core checks that matter for safety and performance.
Safety and Leak Checks
We check for gas leaks, test gas tightness and confirm pressure and flow are within safe limits.
Flue and Ventilation Checks
We inspect the flue or chimney and ventilation to make sure combustion products can escape safely.
Internal Cleaning and Inspection
Burners, pilot assemblies, ignition parts and seals are inspected and cleaned where needed.
Carbon Monoxide and Performance Testing
We test combustion, check flame pattern and carry out carbon monoxide checks before signing the fire off as safe.
Keeping your gas fire safe, clean and running properly
A gas fire that hasn't been serviced can develop problems you'd never spot just by looking at it, worn seals, a partially blocked flue, or a burner that isn't combusting cleanly. None of that is obvious day to day, which is exactly why regular servicing matters. It's a straightforward job for a Gas Safe registered engineer, but it's not one to skip or leave to guesswork.
We start with a visual check of the fire, its casing and the flue or chimney, then move through gas tightness and pressure testing, a look at the internal components, and a check of the flue and ventilation. Depending on the appliance, that might include cleaning the burner and ignition parts, checking seals and safety controls, and testing the flame pattern and carbon monoxide levels once it's all back together.
A gas fire should be looked after by someone who understands exactly what they're checking, and why.
If we find something during the service, whether that's a worn part, a blockage or a flue issue, we'll tell you plainly what it is and what your options are. Most services turn up nothing more than routine cleaning and a clean bill of health, but it's better to know either way.
