Radiator Valve Replacement
A dripping or stuck radiator valve is usually a quick fix when it's done properly, and we make sure it stays fixed. Our team replaces manual and thermostatic valves cleanly and tests everything before we leave.

Valve work we cover
From a single dripping valve to a full set of upgrades, here's what radiator valve replacement usually involves.
Thermostatic Valve (TRV) Replacement
Swapping worn or stuck TRVs for new ones so each room heats to the right temperature again.
Manual Valve Replacement
Replacing basic on/off valves that have seized, leaked, or become difficult to turn.
Leaking Valve Repairs
Finding and fixing the cause of drips at the valve joint, from worn seals to bad thread sealing.
Valve Upgrades During Heating Work
Fitting new valves as part of wider radiator, boiler, or pipework projects.
Why a valve that won't shut off properly is worth sorting quickly
A radiator valve does one simple job: control how much hot water flows into a radiator. When it's working properly you barely think about it. When it isn't, you get a radiator that won't heat evenly, a valve that's stuck or seized, or a slow drip that leaves a mark on the carpet before anyone notices.
We see this a lot on older systems around Brighton and Hove, where original valves have simply worn out, or where a TRV has stopped responding to the thermostat properly. It's a straightforward job for us, but it's not one to leave half done, because a badly fitted valve can leak, airlock the system, or damage the pipework thread if it's over-tightened.
A valve that's fitted properly shouldn't need thinking about again for years.
Our process is the same every time. We isolate the heating and drain down the affected radiator (or the whole system if needed), protecting your flooring with towels and a container as we disconnect the old valve. The new valve goes on with proper sealing on the threads, checked for correct flow direction, then the system is refilled, the radiator bled to clear trapped air, and everything is pressure-tested and checked for leaks before we consider the job finished.
More information
We get asked about this alongside all sorts of other things, dripping valves noticed while a boiler's being serviced, a cold spot on a radiator that turns out to be a stuck TRV, or a full room refit where new valves just make sense. If you're partway through a bathroom or renovation project with us, it's often something we can pick up in the same visit.
Tidy work and a proper leak check matter more than speed.
We are based in Woodingdean and cover Brighton, Hove, Worthing, Lewes, Shoreham-by-Sea, Haywards Heath, Seaford, Burgess Hill and surrounding Sussex towns, and we're happy to look at anything from a single valve to a houseful of radiators that need attention. We are Gas Safe registered for domestic gas work, registration 568345, so while we're there we can also flag anything else worth knowing about your heating system, no pressure, just an honest look.
If a radiator's dripping, stuck, or just not heating like it should, get in touch and we'll talk you through what's likely needed before anyone sets foot on site.
