Swapping your old thermostat for one you can control from anywhere
A smart thermostat replaces your existing wall control with a Wi-Fi-enabled version, letting you turn the heating up, down, or off from an app, wherever you happen to be. It's a small job with a noticeable everyday benefit, and it's one we're regularly asked to do alongside boiler servicing, heating repairs, or as part of a wider central heating upgrade.
We start by turning off power to the system and carefully checking and photographing your existing wiring before anything is disconnected. Some homes have a C-wire already in place for continuous power; others don't, in which case we'll fit an adapter or find another suitable solution so the new thermostat runs reliably. Once the new baseplate is mounted and wired in, we restore power, connect it to your Wi-Fi, and walk you through the app so you're using it with confidence before we leave.
A smart thermostat is only as good as the wiring and setup behind it, that's the bit worth getting right.
The main thing customers want to know is whether their system will actually work with a smart thermostat, and whether it'll be a big disruptive job. In most cases it's straightforward and quick once we've confirmed compatibility, though homes with unusual or older wiring can take a bit longer to get right.

As a Gas Safe registered and accredited Vaillant installer, we're used to working on the heating systems behind the thermostat, not just the thermostat itself.

Vaillant boiler installation in a house refurbishment
A Vaillant boiler installed as part of a full house refurbishment. The system is controlled by a smart thermostat and protected by a system filter, giving the customer a ten year warranty.
Vaillant boiler replacement
A Vaillant boiler installed to replace a faulty older unit, controlled by a smart thermostat. We also tidied up the pipework while we were there, giving the customer more space in the storage cupboard.
Vaillant boiler replacing a 1979 system
This Vaillant boiler took the place of one fitted in August 1979. We removed the existing boiler, cylinder and tanks to bring the system up to date, and fitted a smart thermostat alongside the new boiler, which carries a ten year warranty.
Vaillant boiler replacement with smart thermostat
We replaced an undersized Ideal Logic boiler with a new Vaillant unit, upgrading some of the pipework at the same time. The system is controlled by a Google Nest thermostat.
Powermax replaced with a Vaillant ecoTEC plus
We recently replaced a tired old Powermax with a Vaillant ecoTEC plus 938, protected by a Spirotech filter and controlled by a Google Nest thermostat.
Vaillant boiler installation and relocation
A Vaillant ecoTEC plus boiler fitted and moved ready for a garage conversion. The system is controlled by a smart thermostat and protected by a Vaillant boiler protection kit, giving a 10 year warranty.
