Underfloor Heating Installation
We fit wet and electric underfloor heating for homeowners across Brighton & Hove and Sussex, most often as part of a bathroom design and installation, though we can also add it to other rooms during a renovation.
Underfloor heating options we install
Whichever system suits your floor build-up and budget, we handle the planning, fitting and testing properly from start to finish.
Wet Underfloor Heating
Pipework connected to a manifold, usually tied into your boiler or heating system, pressure tested before the floor goes down.
Electric Underfloor Heating
Heating mats or cables wired to a thermostat, a good option where screed depth or drying time is limited.
Bathroom & Wet Room Underfloor Heating
Fitted as part of a full bathroom or wet room design and installation for a warm, even floor underfoot.
Insulation & Subfloor Preparation
Levelling, repairing and insulating the subfloor first so the finished system performs efficiently and lasts.
Warm floors, done properly from the subfloor up
Underfloor heating takes the radiator off the wall and puts even, gentle heat right under your feet instead. It suits bathrooms especially well, which is why we fit it most often as part of a full design-and-installation bathroom project, though it can also go into kitchens, extensions or other rooms where the floor build-up allows it. The system itself, wet pipework or electric mats, matters less than how carefully it's prepared and installed.
We start by checking the subfloor is clean, level and free of anything that could damage the pipes or mats: debris, nails, uneven patches. From there we add insulation to stop heat disappearing downwards instead of into the room, then lay the pipework or heating cables to the layout we've planned around your manifold, thermostat and any fixed fittings.
A warm floor is only as good as the preparation underneath it.
Wet systems get pressure tested before anything covers them, and electric systems get checked for correct operation, so any issue is caught before the screed or flooring goes down, not after. Screed then needs time to cure and the system is brought up to temperature gradually rather than switched straight to full heat, which protects the floor and the heating elements alike.
More information
We understand the usual worries: will it heat the room properly, will the floor be ready in time, will it damage a nice new tile job if something's wrong underneath. That's exactly why testing happens before covering, and why we don't rush the curing and commissioning stage. A properly fitted system with good insulation gives noticeably fewer cold spots and frees up wall space that a radiator would otherwise take.
Tested before it's covered, so there are no surprises once the floor goes down.
We are based in Woodingdean and cover Brighton, Hove, Worthing, Lewes, Shoreham-by-Sea, Haywards Heath, Seaford, Burgess Hill and surrounding Sussex towns, working on domestic homes rather than commercial premises. If you're planning a new bathroom or renovating a room with underfloor heating in mind, get in touch and we'll talk through what suits your floor and your project.
Recent work

Underfloor heating installation
Another underfloor heating system installed on this ongoing project, which is now approaching completion.

Underfloor heating in a kitchen and dining room
We installed a low profile Beneath Heat overlay underfloor heating system in a new kitchen and dining room. With the existing floor staying in place, the overlay was the ideal solution, raising the floor height by only 15mm before the new floor covering.

Bathroom suite in a barn conversion
One of five bathroom suites we installed on a barn conversion project. Our work on the property also took in underfloor heating, a ground source heating plant room, further bathrooms and toilets, the kitchen and utility room, and extensive copper pipework.

Underfloor heating in Buxted
Underfloor heating installed as part of our Buxted project.

Full house underfloor heating system
We installed a full house underfloor heating system this week. The system has been fully tested and is ready for the new flooring to be fitted.

Underfloor heating for two new builds in Peacehaven
We recently completed underfloor heating installations across two new build houses in Peacehaven.
“We needed our boiler moving as part of other building works and the team have delivered a new, high quality boiler installation which we are over the moon with. Additional works to follow like underfloor heating once the general building works have finished. Highly recommended for plumbing and heating works.”
