Shower Installation
Whether you're replacing a tired shower or fitting one as part of a bigger bathroom project, we take the time to get the levels, waterproofing and finish right first time. Homeowners across Brighton, Hove and Sussex trust us for a shower that stays watertight and looks properly finished for years.

Shower installation, done properly
From a straightforward swap to a full wet room, here's what's involved when we fit a shower.
Shower Tray & Enclosure Fitting
Level, properly supported trays and enclosures fitted with correctly connected and tested waste plumbing.
Wet Room Conversions
Fully tanked, level-access wet rooms built for a modern, low-maintenance shower space.
Electric Shower Installation
Electric showers fitted and connected in line with the relevant safety requirements.
Wall Panel & Tiling Preparation
Waterproof backer boards, tanking and wall panels prepped and fitted to protect against moisture before finishing.
Getting the waterproofing right, not just the look
A shower only works if the boring bits underneath are done properly. It needs to be level, the waste has to drain correctly, and every joint and edge has to be properly sealed before it's ever used. We fit showers as standalone jobs and as part of full bathroom design-and-fit projects, so we're just as comfortable swapping out a single tray as we are building a wet room from scratch.
Our approach starts with isolating the water supply and stripping out whatever's there already, then checking the subfloor, walls and existing plumbing for anything hidden, like corrosion, damp or a floor that isn't quite level. Once we know what we're working with, we fit and level the tray or base, connect and pressure-test the waste, then prepare the walls with proper waterproof backing before tiling or panelling goes on.
A shower that leaks in six months isn't a finished job, it's an unfinished one.
The valve, shower head, hose and enclosure go in last, fitted to the manufacturer's spec so everything lines up and works as it should. Every edge, corner and joint gets sealed properly, and we test water flow, temperature and drainage before we call it done. Sealant and tanking need time to cure, so we'll always be upfront about when it's actually ready to use, not just when it looks finished.
More information
Common worries we come across are pipework that doesn't quite match the new unit, water pressure that's lower than expected, or damage hiding behind an old panel that only shows up once it's stripped out. We flag these early rather than halfway through, so there are no surprises on the final bill. Electric showers bring their own wiring considerations, which we handle to the relevant safety standards as a matter of course.
Tidy, courteous work is what people remember, not just the fittings.
We cover Brighton, Hove, Worthing, Lewes, Shoreham-by-Sea, Haywards Heath, Seaford and the surrounding Sussex towns, working out of our base in Woodingdean. Whether it's a single replacement shower or one part of a larger bathroom redesign, the same care goes into the prep, the sealing and the finish. If you're not sure whether your situation needs a simple swap or something bigger, get in touch and we'll talk it through before anything is booked in.

Downstairs shower room and master bathroom
We took down the wall between the existing bathroom and the small downstairs toilet to create a spacious shower room, with a washing machine hidden neatly around the corner. We also converted an unused upstairs bedroom into a master bathroom so they were not left without a bath.

Shower room refurbishment in Brighton
We completed this shower room in Brighton. The room had suffered with damp caused by a problem with the external rendering; that issue was resolved and the room was completely stripped out and protected against it happening again.
“Fast, friendly, trustworthy and professional. We had a shower installed by RK plumbing and the service was excellent. I couldn't recommend them higher.”
