Toilet Installation
Whether you're replacing a tired old toilet or fitting a new one as part of a bigger bathroom job, we make sure it's fitted level, sealed properly and free of leaks. Straightforward work, done tidily, by a local plumber homeowners trust.
What's involved in toilet installation
A toilet swap sounds simple, but getting it right depends on a few key steps done properly.
Old Toilet Removal
Safely disconnecting and removing your old toilet, including clearing away old wax or sealant from the flange.
New Toilet Fitting
Fitting close-coupled, back-to-wall or wall-hung toilets, levelled and secured so there's no wobble or movement.
Leak Testing & Snagging
Checking the base, tank bolts and supply connection thoroughly once everything's connected and flushed.
Bathroom Fit-Out Integration
Fitting toilets as part of a full bathroom design and installation, tiled and finished to match the rest of the room.
Getting a toilet fitted properly, first time
A toilet installation is one of those jobs that looks simple until it isn't. Get the seal wrong, leave it slightly off level, or over-tighten a bolt, and you're looking at a wobble, a leak, or a cracked base further down the line. We fit toilets properly the first time, whether it's a straightforward like-for-like swap or a new toilet going into a bathroom we're designing and building from scratch.
Our approach is methodical. We isolate and drain the water supply, remove the old toilet and clean the flange back properly, then check the floor and flange for any damage before we start. A new seal goes in, the toilet is set level (using shims if the floor needs it), and it's secured with the bolts snug, not overtightened, so nothing cracks or distorts. Once it's connected to the water supply, we flush it through several times and check the base, tank bolts and supply line for any sign of a leak before we call it done.
A toilet that's fitted properly shouldn't need thinking about again for years.
Most of the calls we get are homeowners replacing an old or failing toilet, sometimes because it's started rocking, sometimes because it's just had its day. We also fit toilets as part of full bathroom design-and-installation projects, where everything from the tiling to the finish needs to line up. Either way, the standard doesn't change: level, secure, watertight, and tidy when we leave.
More information
If you're planning a full bathroom refit rather than just swapping a toilet, it's worth mentioning this is genuinely where we specialise, designing and fitting bathrooms end to end, including wet rooms, en-suites and accessible bathrooms. A toilet installation on its own is a smaller job, but we bring the same care to it as we would a full first and second fix.
Tidy work and a proper seal matter more than people expect, until the day they don't.
We cover Brighton and Hove along with Woodingdean, where we're based, plus Worthing, Lewes, Shoreham-by-Sea, Haywards Heath, Seaford and Burgess Hill. If you're unsure whether your toilet needs replacing or just a repair, or you want a quote for a swap alongside other bathroom work, get in touch and we'll talk it through.
